Who We Are

The International Bladder Cancer Group (IBCG) is a multidisciplinary consortium of globally recognized experts dedicated to advancing the science and practice of bladder cancer care. With representation spanning continents and specialties, we collaborate to identify clinical gaps, generate consensus-driven guidance, and publish high-impact research that informs international guidelines. At the core of our work is a shared commitment to improving patient outcomes through rigorous science, global inclusion, and practical tools that elevate care worldwide.

Our History

The International Bladder Cancer Group (IBCG) first convened in 2006 to address educational needs and critical knowledge gaps in the care of patients with non muscle invasive bladder cancer. The inaugural group consisted primarily of urologists selected for their expertise and their ability to represent key regions across Europe, North America, and Asia. Over time, IBCG has evolved into a multidisciplinary consortium that now includes leading experts in medical and radiation oncology, pathology, biostatistics, and translational research – with representation spanning all continents. This breadth of expertise strengthens the relevance, scientific rigor, and real-world impact of the group’s consensus work and educational initiatives.

Our Mission

To improve outcomes of patients suffering from bladder cancer through critical evaluation and leveraging of existing data to drive evidence-based treatment.

To develop practical educational tools that are applicable to the global urological community and thus enhance the care of patients with bladder cancer on a global level.
